Amanda Dahl
Amanda is a proud SUNY Oswego alumni where she earned her Bachelors in Psychology in 2012. She then went on to earn her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Albany in 2014. Amanda has had clinical experience working in various settings such as; outpatient counseling centers, inpatient hospitals, partial hospital programs, and care management agencies. She has tailored most of her clinical work toward children and their families. She has experience navigating topics such as anxiety, depression, communication difficulties, the foster care system, crisis management, and skill-building for symptom management. In addition to working with children and their families, Amanda has a desire to work with couples, and young adults navigating life transitions such as college and career planning. Amanda has an empathetic, yet equally direct approach. She works to create a safe space for clients to be vulnerable while working to build insight so as to become their own agents of change. Ultimately, Amanda likes to meet clients where they are with the use of a true psychotherapy approach. However, she finds great value in exploring family systems and their impact on individual functioning. Amanda also utilizes therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology.
