Diane Cole

LMHC

Diane approaches psychotherapy as a deep, integrative process that goes beyond symptom relief to create lasting, embodied change. Her work is rooted in the understanding that trauma is not just a psychological experience. It is neurological, somatic, and often held beneath conscious awareness.

As a trauma specialist, Diane helps clients who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and relational pain finally understand why  those patterns persist, and how to shift them at the level where they were formed. Her approach blends neuroscience-informed treatment with somatic and energy-based modalities, allowing for transformation that is not just insight-driven, but fully felt and sustained.

Diane is the bestselling author of Heartbundance: The Art and Science of Healing After Heartbreak and a keynote speaker on emotional abuse recovery. She is known for her ability to translate complex trauma dynamics into clear, meaningful shifts that empower clients to reclaim a sense of safety, clarity, and self-trust.

With two decades of clinical experience, Diane holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling from SUNY New Paltz and is trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, EFT, and mindfulness-informed CBT. She integrates these modalities intuitively, tailoring each session to the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Clients often come to Diane after feeling frustrated with previous therapy experiences that remained at the surface level. Her work creates a space for deeper exploration. One that is grounded, attuned, and oriented towards lasting change.

In her leadership role at With Grace Mental Health Counseling, Diane provides clinical supervision and mentorship to both in-house therapists and clinicians outside the organization. She is deeply committed to developing therapists who are not only skilled, but thoughtful, nuanced, and trauma-informed in their work.
