Elysse Calandra

LMHC-D

Elysse is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals navigating body image concerns, disordered eating patterns, and challenges with self-esteem. She helps clients develop a more compassionate and grounded relationship with themselves, especially in a world that often reinforces unrealistic standards and self-criticism.

Her approach is rooted in creating a space that feels safe, validating, and nonjudgmental where clients can openly explore their experiences and begin to shift long-standing patterns. Elysse integrates person-centered therapy with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support emotional regulation, build self-awareness, and strengthen a more balanced and resilient sense of self.

Elysse is particularly passionate about helping clients move from self-criticism to self-trust. She works collaboratively with individuals to develop practical tools for navigating daily challenges, setting healthy boundaries, and responding to themselves with greater clarity and care.

Clients often experience Elysse as warm, approachable, and genuinely invested. Her thoughtful, curious style helps clients feel understood while also gently guiding them toward meaningful and sustainable change.

Elysse earned her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Community Psychology from The Sage Graduate School in 2018.
